Which basically boils down to, you have friends and allies to help you this time round.Īs for which Clans to use during each era, that is a matter of personal opinion and somewhat dependent on the difficulty level. Unless you feel like taking the whole Ezo Republic route, siding with either the Imperialists or Shogunate factions will see take part in factional warfare. I believe Rise of the Samurai shares the same Realm Divide as Shogun 2, while Fall of the Samurai's Realm Divide is refreshingly different. Not to mention Darthmod for Fall of the Samurai doesn't exactly make playing as a Traditionalist particularly balanced, last time I checked.

While a lot of people would probably swear by Darthmod if it is giving you issues then playing the vanilla unmodded game is perfectly fine, and enjoyable.

What is the Realm Divide like for each era?Īnd, like, should I decide to go full blown waste my summer and make a small AAR on the matter. Should I stick with Vanilla or attempt to get Darthmod working? In each era what factions do you recommend for a fun time? The other annoying thing was I had trouble getting Darthmod, that savior of Empire, to work. I played Shogun 2 a fair bit when it initially came out and after a few patches, and it was good fun- the only things was that the Realm divide always mashed me, and came far too early for me to enjoy it- I was fielding three armies tops while the enemy could spam me with 7 or 8 in an area. So if hypothetically I was to complete the Shogun 2 set by getting Rise/Fall of the Samurai, what could be more fun than banging my way through all three eras, one after the other? So yeah, I have uni exams, so I'm kind of locking down on gaming time, but I was planning to get a new game or something to look forward to when I finish.
